The reason for this season

Sometimes we forget the reason for this season. I mean, we say it on Sunday before Christmas but do we really understand it? Joy. Unexplainable joy. That's what this season is all about. It's about how God penetrated into this evil world to have His Son born into flesh to bear our sins and mess. It's the theme of our Father: His constant desire for our attention. When the world is chaotic and hectic and crazy and ecstatic, joy is found in our Savior. When the world is confusing and we feel like we're losing our minds, we have Christ our Redeemer. Joy is not the absence of pain. It's the realization that we have an advocate in Jesus who releases us from sin. Noel. Joy in the middle of it all. Christmas is the reminder that we have God for us and that we are not alone in this messed up world. God wants us. He desires our affections. He even sent His Son to a rundown manger to show the world that even when we're stuck in mud and covered in grime, He is faithful. When it feels like we havent heard from God in awhile, it's because He's waiting for the right time. We cant rush God. He trumps all of our desires. But He will answer our prayers. He will give us joy.
