Late have I loved thee.
At least I think that I have loved thee.
What does it mean when I say that I love God?
Am I simply loving a reflection of myself?
An extension?
A mere attribute of myself that I deem worthy of praise?
No, I think that when I love God that I see a transcendent being.
One that makes sense but doesn't.
One who is rational but not.
One who is real but maybe not tangible.
Why do I love God?
Because God loved me first.
I would not have any starting place if that faith weren't there.
I would have no idea of where to begin if it weren't placed in me by you.
Oh my God. My Lord and redeemer.
I love that you love.
I love that you trust.
I love that you redeem.
I love that you rescue.
I love that you are.
I would have very little sense of the world had it not been for you.
I would not know what to do if I didn't have you.
You're the spectacles of my life causing my sight to be a little more readjusted.
I'm not sure what that really means but I guess it would seem that you give me your eyes to see the world as you see it.
That I can love the world as you see fit.
That I would be a follower of the most high God and to love those whom you've loved.
You are crying out to us hoping that we can return to you.
All of creation longs for you.
All of this world belongs to you, so it only makes sense that it would bend back to you.
You're making this whole place new.
Whatever that entails.
Whatever that means.
You're doing it.
You not me.
I love that you are the God who hears and listens and responds and loves and corrects and judges and pours out His spirit upon this earth.
I love that you are near.
That you are not only transcendent but relational.
Omniscient yet omnipotent.
You know all the outcomes of the world and providentially provide for the best means of our own good.
You know.
You love.
And you work all things out according to your purpose.
You care and you're there.
Yet you aren't a human and cannot be limited by the words that I speak.
I love you because you are both God in divinity and Christ in humanity and your Spirit binds me to you
