We are the church
If we are the church, then why do we meet in a building? Is it just because it gives us good feelings? Or it has good music? If we don't put our theology into practice, then we just abuse it. We take this salvation for granted. Christ is the answer. We need the church because we are so broken and hurt. We need a place of rest during our weekly stress. But it shouldn't end there. We need to go somewhere. We shouldn't be cooped up in some safe place. We need to be showing the world God's grace. We need to start going out into the world. We need the church as a physical location to meet our spiritual needs. And as our spiritual needs are met, we should then go touch those who have so many physical needs. Homeless. Abused. Estranged. Ostracized. Alienated. Outcasts. We should be reaching out. Using our teachings. Helping those around us. We are just one small piece of the puzzle. We can't do this by ourselves. We need the church because we need a body. We need all the parts to work together to serve those around us. We are the active participants in the kingdom of god. By saying yes to Christ, we have entered into relationship with the father and his children, the holy ones before us. We are meant for community. That's why we need the church. Because there's something that we can't get by ourselves. Just like it is bad for man to be alone, we need more hands to get work done. We are the church. We are his people.
