Oh be careful little mouth what you say...

People seem to have a lot of opinions these days. Maybe they're just more accessible because of the internet, but it sometimes is a little ridiculous what people are putting up for the world to see (in case you're wondering, this post is meta).
I wonder if people will look back on these days of blogspot, wordpress, or even xanga and say, "What were they thinking?" I understand that people write for catharsis, stress relief, or just to see their brilliant thoughts on paper, but I feel like we're reaching saturation. No one is writing completely original texts. No one is unique in what they're saying. No one is special.

That might be a little too harsh, but I think you get what I'm saying. People talk on these things hoping to get a response. Because we all want a response. We all want to think that our voices are important. In my Medieval Church History class, I had the privilege of reading a piece by Tertullian. You might have seen my tweet and/or my instagram about this. Someone thought I was being serious. Someone actually thought that I believed that women allowed sin into the world. But anyways, my point is that Tertullian, and many other people, often just wrote because they could. They probably never figured that anyone, let alone some guy in the "New World," would ever read this stuff. They thought, like people do now, that no one really listens. But they do. So to summarize my idea, it's that a) I need to be more careful in what I post, and b) other people need to be smarter as well. You never know if someone 1800 years from now will be reading this and say, man, that guy was stupid, like my initial reaction to Tertullian...
