Come near

Holy spirit you are welcome here. We draw closer to you so that you'll come near. God, we're waiting in expectation knowing that you'll reveal yourself to us. We thank you for your greatest revelation in your son, Jesus. We want more of you in this dry and dusty place. We want to shake the rust off and dance our pains away. Move in this place again. Show us your power. We want you right now in this very hour. We know you can stop storms and tell mountains to shake, but we want you to come down and cause our walls to break. Tear down our pride and selfishness. Let us become even more aware of our depravity. We think we've got this. We think we have it under control. But we know you'll pull the rug from under us to throw us on our faces. God, come destroy our humanity. Come move among us again. We're waiting for revival. We're ready for renewal. What does that look like? It's just more of you.
